Again poor Kyle is sick! He hasn't felt good pretty much all month so far! Teething,running nose,little cough,double ear infection and virus.....this equals a pitiful, miserable and non sleeping lil guy!
He turned 15 months on the 1st and was teething then! 4 molars and two bottom teeth! Then on the 4th he had his check up and shots!
He was growing great, small but still great and all checked out perfect! He had a running nose then but we figured just a cold or teething! He did good with his shots and off we went! Wow did things change!
At 1:30am Tue he woke up crying, daddy and I got him, gave him a little milk and after about an hour got him back to sleep! Within 30min he was back up crying, with nothing else we could do we let him cry thinking it would be the norm...just for a few, O no another hour or so he cried! This happened Wed,Thur Fri...and he was so cranky..just not like Kyle at all!
Then Sat we thought he felt a little warm but didn't think much about it, he's always a warm little guy! Then Sunday he was more than warm he was hot....103 degree temp...we were shocked! He was just not acting right and had the trembles...where he's just shake or jerk...this really scared us. We gave him meds to get the fever down and a bath! It helped enough to make him feel a bit better! I called the on call doc and talked to her..she said to keep doing what we were doing and see how his fever does...and make sure we push fluids! All went good..he didn't sleep well again but no fever at 2am or when he got up..so we thought he was on the up swing! Within a few hours of getting up Mon the fever came back 101.5 and things just got crazy! He drank his milk and some juice Mon morning but after 8:30am he didn't drink...He had a wet diaper at 1:30 and 6pm. He refuse everything...We've tried Popsicle, juice, power aid, water, koolaid and milk! He slept all day but then played and laughed some with sissy! He was acting ok just refusing liquid and almost all food(had a little applesauce today) The no drinking got us especially since he went hours with a almost dry diaper! So we called the pedi office and their suggestion (since they had no appts today) was to take him to the ER to be seen and make sure he wasn't dehydrated....we are just not so sure this is necessary...since he seems fine, not puking, no diarrhea and had a slightly wet diaper. So we didn't take him! Of course right after we make the call and stress of taking him or not he sucked down a sippy cup of milk! YAAAY! He did great after that, ate a little played and fever broke again!
Tue was good but his fever came back a little and he still was not sleeping, not even napping! Monday night he cried out and grapped his ears so we had a feeling an infections was brewing! He was still very cranky so I made an appt for Wed! We went in and instantly the doc looked in his ears and bam DOUBLE ear infection and virus! So he got some antibiotics! We had a couple more nights of 2hr crying but now he's is all better and sleeping! He's back to Kyle..wild and smiley!
