A Sunflower blossoming

At the end of kindergarten Kaylee had brought home weee little sunflower plant! They had planted them in class as a project!
They started them from the seedling and brought them home at only a few inches tall! We found a nice place to plant our two plants and just watched them grow! One did awesome and one no so great! I wish I would have taken a pic from the first day but its ok!
We didn't think it was ever going to flower...it grew and grew like 9ft tall and finally got a beautiful flower!

Kindergarten Graduate 2012-2013

Wow how times flies....Our little kindergarten is now a 1st grader! Today was Kaylee's last day of her first school year!
What a great school year it was too! We love Hinkle Creek Elementary and LOVED LOVED Mrs.Freeman and Mrs.Smuckers!
Kaylee passed with ease of course....its beyond amazing all she learned in 9 months. She can read, knows simple math, spells and writes! Looking at all her work from the year from start to finish was amazing...she grew so much! She ended the year reading a level above whats expected, writing at a 1st grade level and just being a super smart and very willing little girl!
To end the school year Kaylee's class got to do the announcements at the beginning of the day! Each day a few from class would go down..introduce themselves of the speaker, do the pledge of allegiance, Hinkle Creek pledge....and Kaylee's day just happen to be the very last day of school...so cute and what a great way to end school for her! I'm sure going to miss those kids, class 151, both teachers and my little girl being in Kindergarten!

We ended the last day with icecream at Dairy Queen with Jenna one of Kaylee's bestfriends this year, Valerie, Lil Cody and Haley...love that we made great friends this year!

We are so beyond proud of you Kaylee......you are such an amazing little girl! Love you so very much

Cool Creek Field Trip

Today was so much for for all of us....Kaylee last field trip of Kindergarten!!! We went to Cool Creek Park today and had a blast!
Jason and I volunteered, we had three girls in our group...Kaylee, Jade and Lucy! The bus ride was fun, its been forever since this mom and dad has been on a bus! hahaha This was a day for all six classes of Kindergartners to just have fun... that's a lot of 5-6yr old!
We started off with a game of bingo...nature style....the girls did awesome, found a cricket and butterfly to make a bingo!
From there we went into the nature center for a few stations! First we learn about turtles, then checked out the viewing area for birds, squirrels and such, then a couple crafts(painting paws prints/colored leaves), story time, lunch and ended the day with a little nature walk! We learned what flowers show when squirrels, butterflies etc... will be out! We learned of trees, different plants and how to stay on trails to preserve nature! Then back to the bus for another fun ride back to school.

This past week Kaylee had her first school project.....Animal Researching on Meerkats.
She researched a little at school a couple weeks ago and I even got to go in and help the class...which was interesting!
She picked out a Meerkat book and brought it home..we read it a couple times and she did so good and remembering cute facts about meerkats! She then made her cute poster board project and wrote all the info herself! She did such a great job and turned it in yesterday...sometime this week she'll give her lil presentation to the class......

Awesome Patience award = PANCAKES

This morning at school Kaylee had a yummy pancake breakfast with her principle Mr Lawrence and a few other kids!
Why you ask....Patience...Kaylee won the Life skill award of the week at school for having awesome patience! Mrs. Freeman nominated her and called me Thursday night to let me know she'd be surprised in the morning! This morning I took her to school and hung around for a few so I could be with her and get a few pics! I love being in school with her and watching how her day goes and how GREAT she is in school. So we went down to the cafeteria, she got her pancakes, strawberries and chocolate milk then we had a seat until Mr Lawrence was down with the morning announcements! He than came down, congratulated all the kids on there great job and chatted with them for a few. As each was down, he helped them out and give all a high five before they headed back to class!
Kaylee ate her up...just the pancakes and milk..while I ate her strawberries (no wasting hehehe) and I walked her back to class!
We are so proud of her in so many ways.....she does have great patience....along with being so smart, loving, sweet, thoughtful, funny and I could go on and on!

Love you sweet girl.......Great job

A day at Kindergarten

Today I volunteered at school.....I loved it! I loved being in class, seeing what all they did and especially watching my sweet girl in class! I'm so impressed with her, she is so focused, takes all in that is being taught, she is great with her friends and O so cute sitting at her desk! So glad I get a chance participate in class and get to know the kids and her teachers...they're all pretty special!
Today I helped with assessments, had fun setting up gingerbread decorating plates and what the kids chase the gingerbread kids...sneaky lil kid he was!

My love

He ran away....where did he go....off on the Gingerbread Kid hunt

In the library maybe??

And he came back to our class
