This morning Kyle has his first and hopefully only surgery!
At birth he was diagnosed with Hypospadias. This is were the pee hole is not centered and there is a fold of skin around the wee...he also had a bend in his wee! We were told right away he's need surgery when he was a bit older!
So this morning we went to Riley Hospital! Check in was 6:15a and surgery at 7:30a!
Kyle did great all morning even with not eating since 1:30a. He was great while waiting and getting all his vitals! He giggled and just snuggled us!
Mommy and Daddy were nervous but doing well too...until it got closer!
The anesthesiologist came in and explain how things would go for Kyle..this is when mommy cried! Then the doc came in and talked us through things. Finally three nurses came talked to us and then I had to let my baby go....this was so hard for us! I cried and cried but Kyle was a big boy and went to the nurse with just a little whine but then he was fine!
After 2.5hrs the doctor came in and said he was great and the surgery went perfect! He is straight, center and circumcised now. She said Kyle was waking up good and would be out in just bit. About 15-20 mins later I could hear my baby..I know that cute cry...and there he was back in my arms! Mad a little but great! We gave him some pedialyte to drink but he didn't want that so he got his bottle...and he loved it! Within an hour he was discharged and ready to go home!
He'll be in a little pain for the next couple days and be on antibiotic. He has a catheter for the next 11 days which keeps the pee hole stay open while healing! Here is a few days his bandages will come off......he has been such a trooper!
