About 11am Sat poor lil guy stated having severe tummy aches/pains! Tried resting and everything and the pain just got worse So daddy rushed him over to Riverview! Pretty sure it was his appedix they got a IV started and meds for a CT scan! His pain got worse so they gave him a bit of Morphine to help with pain and relax him this was after the CT scan! All blood work was normal except a white cell count was a bit elevated!
However CT scan looked normal but Er Doc thought being transferred to Payton Manning Peds hospital for overnight observation would be a good idea! He still hurts and doc here thought it would be best to have Kyle somewhere that had a pediatric surgeon just in case! So off we went via ambulance...he talked a bit but unlike Kyle was quiet most of the drive! At Payton Manning they got him all set up in a very cute kids room decorated in Construction theme...perfect for our boy! He was still hurting a bit and was able to catch a little sleep! Daddy and I slept on the pull out couch with our boy! Sunday morning came and he was doing a bit better at first then all of a sudden as we were talking discharge he started crying in pain again! So NO going home and a second round of testing and IV fluids! Testing was for pancreas, parasites and Hep B I think! The the day went on he started doing much better I think due to IV fluids....he got energy, started drinking and eating some! While we waited for test results Mamaw,Papaw brought both sissy's down to visit! Kyle played and started to become much more energetic!! Within a couple hours test results were in and all was clear....after pooing, lots of fluids it was the conclusion he must have a gastrointestinal infection! He was being discharged! YAAAY Then after waking from a small nap he woke with a 103 temp out of the blue....awwwwww! However doc said if he keep drinking and meds helped the fever he could still go home....he did and the fever just broke on its own(very weird) so finally we got to leave around 10p Sunday night!
What a roller-coaster of a weekend and emotions! Its so hard to see your baby in pain and have no way to help other than hugs and holding them!
Thank heavens our little boy is ok and whatever it was passed and he's just fine!
